U-20 Women’s World Cup: Countries eliminated, qualified for Round of 16

The 2026 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup in Poland has entered the knockout-stage race, with several teams already securing their places in the Round of 16.

Seven teams have so far qualified for the next round, while three teams have been eliminated from the tournament.

Teams qualified for the Round of 16

Poland
Argentina
Brazil
England
Italy
DPR Korea
Spain

Poland and Brazil finished top of their respective groups after winning all three matches, while Argentina and England advanced in second place.

Italy, DPR Korea and Spain also secured their places after winning their opening two matches.

Teams eliminated

Mexico
Benin
Tanzania

Mexico and Benin were eliminated after finishing third and fourth respectively in Group A.

Tanzania also exited the competition after losing all three of their Group B matches.

Teams still in contention

The remaining teams are still battling for the available Round of 16 places.

Canada, despite finishing third in Group B, can still qualify as one of the four best third-placed teams.

In Group F, Nigeria also remain in contention for a place in the knockout stage after collecting one point from their opening two matches.

No team from Groups C, E or F, apart from the already-qualified DPR Korea and Spain, has been eliminated at this stage.

The final Round of 16 line-up will be determined after the remaining group-stage matches are completed.
