Barau Hails Police Capture of Suspects Who Burnt Woman, 6 Kids in Kano

KANO — Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Barau I. Jibrin, has commended the Kano State Police Command for the swift arrest of the suspects behind the horrific arson attack that claimed the lives of a woman and her six children in Gwarzo town.

In a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ismail Mudashir, Senator Barau described the police action as a “commendable feat” that restores confidence in the security apparatus of the state.

Swift Justice for a Heinous Crime

The tragic incident, which sparked outrage across the state, involved an arson attack on a residence in Gwarzo Local Government Area, resulting in the gruesome death of seven family members.

Reacting to the news of the arrest, Senator Barau praised the Commissioner of Police, Salman Dogo Garba, and his officers for their diligence and prompt response to the tragedy.

“I commend the Kano State Police Command for their swift action in apprehending the suspected arsonists,” Barau stated. “This arrest signals that there is no hiding place for criminals in our society.”

Call for Diligent Prosecution

The Deputy Senate President urged the police not to rest on their oars. He charged the command to conduct a thorough investigation and ensure the suspects face the full wrath of the law.

“Justice must be served. I urge the police to remain diligent so that the courts can deliver a verdict that matches the gravity of this heinous crime,” he added.
