US to deport Nigerian man accused of rape, kidnapping, domestic violence
The United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has announced plans to deport a Nigerian national, Ayodeji Olamide Ajayi, over allegations of visa overstay and a series of criminal offences.
According to the agency, Ajayi entered the United States in 2007 on a student visa but remained in the country after leaving school, thereby violating the terms of his stay.
In a post shared on X on Monday night, June 22, 2026, ICE alleged that the Nigerian citizen accumulated a lengthy criminal record during his time in the country.
The agency stated, “Ayodeji Olamide Ajayi, of Nigeria, entered the United States in 2007 on a student visa and eventually left school, but failed to leave the country.
“Instead, he stayed in the U.S. and got to work on a lengthy rap sheet that includes convictions such as: Domestic violence, Trespassing, Intimidation, and Obstruction.
“His criminal history also includes these egregious charges: Kidnapping, Rape, and Family neglect.
“Thanks to POTUS’ commitment to getting criminal illegal aliens out of this country, Ajayi will be leaving the United States shortly.”
ICE said the deportation forms part of the administration’s broader crackdown on undocumented immigrants with criminal records, describing Ajayi as a “criminal illegal alien.”
The agency alleged that Ajayi had been involved in multiple criminal cases, including rape, kidnapping, domestic violence and intimidation. However, it did not immediately disclose the jurisdictions where the offences were committed or clarify the current status of the rape and kidnapping allegations.
Ajayi’s case comes amid ongoing immigration enforcement operations across the United States targeting non-citizens with criminal histories.
