BENIN CITY – THE Acting Rector of Edo State Polytechnic, Usen, Dr. Nosakhare Liberty Arodoye, has been promoted to the rank of Associate Professor of Economics by the Senate of the University of Benin (UNIBEN).
This development has drawn widespread commendation from the Polytechnic community.
The promotion followed a successful academic assessment in which Dr. Arodoye reportedly earned the highest distinction from all three external assessors, a feat regarded as a strong endorsement of his scholarly contributions and academic excellence.
Some staff of the school described the elevation as well-deserved recognition of the acting rector’s commitment to scholarship, institutional development and educational advancement.
Head of the Department of Business Administration and Management, Dr. John Amawu, said the promotion reflected the confidence reposed in Dr. Arodoye’s academic credentials by the UNIBEN Senate.
Amawu described the acting rector as an accomplished scholar whose passion for research, innovation and quality education has continued to transform Edo State Polytechnic through digitalisation and progressive reforms.
“Arodoye is a man of many strengths who has consistently pursued academic excellence. He understands what it takes to succeed in the academic environment, and since assuming office at Edo State Polytechnic, he has continued to reposition the institution for greater achievements through innovation and technology-driven initiatives,” Amawu said.
Former Registrar of the Polytechnic, Mr. Cymire Cyril, congratulated the newly promoted Associate Professor, saying the achievement would further enhance the academic reputation of the University of Benin while projecting Edo State positively within the global academic community.
Other members of the Polytechnic community, including the institution’s image maker, Comrade John Eson; Head of the Department of Surveying and Geoinformatics, Surveyor Shola Iyahen; Head of Revenue, Mr. Dele Okumayin; and Dean of Students’ Affairs, Mr. Elvis Osumah, also hailed the promotion.
They described the elevation as a fitting reward for years of dedication, hard work and academic excellence, urging the Edo community to celebrate what they called an inspiring milestone for scholars and professionals striving for distinction.
