IBADAN — The University of Ibadan (UI) has officially reclaimed its title as the best university in Nigeria, securing a spot in the 801–1000 global band, even as the University of Oxford retained its crown as the world’s best institution for the 10th consecutive year.
In the Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings 2026, released on Thursday, UI ended the two-year dominance of Covenant University, which slipped to the 1001–1200 band globally.
