‘They thought they had buried you’ — Kanu’s brother celebrates IPOB leader at 58

UMUAHIA — Prince Emmanuel Kanu, brother of the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, has celebrated the detained separatist leader on his 58th birthday, describing him as an “unbreakable lion” who remains undefeated despite his incarceration.

Emmanuel, in a birthday message posted on his verified Facebook account on Friday, said those who thought they had “buried” his brother were unaware of his resilience.

He wrote: “Happy Birthday to an unbreakable lion, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.

“They jailed you with a dead law, yet you are still undefeated, still forcing the government to face appeal.

“They thought they buried you, they didn’t know you are a seed. The great masquerade.”

Kanu was convicted and sentenced to life imprisonment by Justice James Omotosho of the Federal High Court, Abuja, and subsequently transferred to the Sokoto Correctional Centre.

He has appealed the conviction and sentence.
