PSC Hands Over 50,000 Newly Recruited Police Constables to the Nigeria Police Force for Training

The Police Service Commission (PSC) has formally handed over 50,000 newly recruited Police Constables to the Nigeria Police Force for training.

According to a statement by the Commission’s Head of Protocol and Public Relations, Torty Njoku Kalu, the handover ceremony took place at the Commission’s Corporate Headquarters in Abuja.
Presiding over the event on behalf of the Chairman of the Commission, the Commissioner representing the Judiciary, Hon. Justice Paul Adamu Galumje (Rtd), said the recruitment exercise was conducted in line with the directive of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and in accordance with the relevant statutory provisions.

Justice Galumje expressed appreciation to the President for his continued support and formally handed over the successful recruits for training at designated Police Colleges and other approved institutions, in line with approved standards and best practices. He also presented the detailed list of successful candidates, contained in a flash drive, to the Nigeria Police Force.

Receiving the recruits on behalf of the Inspector-General of Police, DIG Isyaku Mohammed, who is in charge of Training and Development, commended the Commission for conducting what he described as a transparent recruitment exercise.

He assured that training for the new constables would commence simultaneously across the country once the necessary funds are released.

Also speaking, the Ministry of Police Affairs, represented by the Director of the Police Service Department, Mr Ibrahim Muhammad, described the recruitment process as credible and transparent.

The Secretary to the Police Service Commission, Chief Onyemuche Nnamani, expressed satisfaction with the successful outcome of the recruitment exercise, attributing its success to the collective efforts and teamwork of all stakeholders.
