Poco Lee: UK court fixes new date after setback

A UK court has adjourned the plea and trial preparation hearing involving Nigerian dancer and entertainer Iweh Pascal Odinaka, popularly known as Poco Lee, to February 2027.

The case came up on Tuesday at Snaresbrook Crown Court, but proceedings could not go ahead because the charge sheet was unavailable.

According to BBC News Pidgin, Poco Lee did not appear in court and consequently did not enter a plea.

The report stated, “In court, Poco Lee did not appear because the charge sheet was not available. As a result, he did not enter a plea.”

Snaresbrook Crown Court has now fixed February 8, 2027, for the plea and trial preparation hearing, when Poco Lee is expected to indicate whether he is guilty or not guilty of the charges against him.

“However, the pre-trial hearing will now take place on 8 February 2027, and he is expected to enter his plea at that time.”

“The trial has also been scheduled for 8 March 2027,” the BBC report stated.

The development followed Poco Lee’s earlier appearance before the court, after which he was granted bail on September 11.

Some Nigerians reportedly attended Tuesday’s proceedings in support of the entertainer, with the court gallery said to have reached capacity while others waited outside.

Following Poco Lee’s first court appearance, reports circulated that he had been granted bail, while videos emerged online showing the entertainer speaking about his experience in the UK.

Snaresbrook Crown Court subsequently confirmed the bail decision to the BBC, with the report stating that Poco Lee remained on bail.

Poco Lee studied Microbiology at Lagos State University (LASU) and rose to prominence around 2018 after videos of his legwork dance performances went viral.
