Photos: Old Trafford turns prayer ground as Jerry Eze leads UK conference

Manchester United’s iconic Old Trafford stadium took on a different atmosphere on Saturday as Nigerian pastor Jerry Eze led worshippers in prayer during the NSPPD UK Prayer Conference.

The event, organised by Eze’s Streams of Joy International, attracted Christians from different parts of the United Kingdom and beyond for a day of prayers, worship and fellowship.

Although entry to the conference was free, prospective attendees were required to register ahead of the event because of limited capacity.

Interest in the gathering reportedly surged in the days before the conference, with social media users claiming that available spaces had been taken up and some turning to TikTok to look for spare tickets.

The conference brought together several prominent Nigerian gospel ministers, who joined Eze for the programme.

Among those featured were Sunmisola Agbebi, Mercy Chinwo, Dunsin Oyekan and Kaestrings.

The event transformed the 74,000-capacity home ground of Manchester United into a setting for Christian worship and prayer as league football takes a short break for international games.
