Odein Ajumogobia chairs Vanguard Personality of the Year Awards Friday

Former Minister of Foreign Affairs, Odein Ajumogobia, SAN, will chair the 14th edition of the Vanguard Personality of the Year Awards, setting the tone for what promises to be a prestigious evening of recognition and celebration.
The event, scheduled to hold on April 24, 2026, at Eko Hotels and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos, will bring together some of the nation’s most influential figures across business, government, entertainment, and more.
Adding glamour to the night, Afrobeats legend Tuface Idibia, is billed to headline the ceremony with a performance expected to feature his timeless hits.
Also on the lineup are the renowned Laolu Gbenjo Band and the vibrant Black Edge Performance Troupe, to ensure a rich blend of music and live entertainment.
Speaking ahead of the event, Tuface recalled his experience at the 2019 edition, describing it as memorable, while promising guests an exciting performance.
“I was at this award in 2019, and it was amazing. Amazing people, amazing time. So I will be there live. Lagos , come out for the Vanguard Award. I will just take you guys on a journey,” he stated.
Over the years, the Vanguard Personality of the Year Awards has established itself as one of Nigeria’s most respected platforms for celebrating excellence and service.
This year’s edition will honour individuals who have made significant contributions to the country’s socio-economic development.
Among the top awardees are Sayyu Dantata, Chairman of MRS Group, and Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, Minister of Interior, both recognised for their leadership and impact.
