North will back Tinubu, not Atiku in 2027, TSO DG says

ABUJA — The Director-General of the Tinubu Support Organization (TSO), Hon. Aminu Suleiman, has urged former Vice President Atiku Abubakar to shelve his 2027 presidential ambition, saying the North would support President Bola Tinubu’s re-election in the interest of equity and fairness.
Suleiman said the North had completed eight years in power under former President Muhammadu Buhari and should allow the South to complete its turn.
He spoke with State House correspondents after meeting President Tinubu at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
According to him, the ongoing reforms and infrastructure projects of the Tinubu administration would strengthen the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the 2027 general election.
“We cannot be greedy. Muhammadu Buhari was there for eight years, and we were part of the process that brought him to power. We have completed our eight years,” he said.
“I think those of us from the North-West need to allow Asiwaju to complete eight years in office so that Nigeria can maintain balance.”
Suleiman also commended the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, and the Minister of Works for what he described as their contributions to infrastructure development.
He maintained that the North would not support the presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in 2027.
The TSO director-general said he visited the President to pay homage and commend him for what he described as achievements recorded within three years in office.
Asked what the President would campaign on ahead of the 2027 election, Suleiman cited ongoing infrastructure projects, including the construction of a major highway in Kebbi State.
He also praised the administration for increased financial allocations to states, saying governors now have greater resources to execute development projects.
“There are many projects that Mr President has initiated in three years. I think it will be good to give him another term in office,” he said.
