A Nigerian man from Enugu State, Phillip Elobuike, who had been out of contact with his family for about 10 years, has reportedly been reunited with his loved ones after a Nigerian woman found him wandering the streets of Dallas, Texas, United States.

The woman, in a video shared on Beyond the Scars Foundation’s social media page, said she encountered Elobuike while he was moving around the streets and jumping from one bus to another in search of shade amid the hot weather.

Concerned about his situation, she approached him and asked questions to establish his identity and where he came from.

According to her, the man identified himself and said he was from Enugu State.

He also mentioned his mother, Evelyn Elobuike, and his sister, Josephine Elobuike.

She subsequently recorded a video appealing to anyone who knew him or was looking for him to come forward.

“I saw Phillip roaming around on the street. He was jumping from one bus to another just to get shade. It’s very hot outside,” she said in the video.

The woman appealed to Nigerians to circulate the video to help locate Elobuike’s relatives.

The video quickly gained attention, with several people sharing it across social media and messaging platforms.

In a subsequent update, the woman expressed appreciation to those who shared the video, saying the collective effort had helped create an impact. A follow-up post indicated that Elobuike’s family had eventually been located through the widespread circulation of the video

The development has sparked an outpouring of joy among Nigerians online, with many commending the woman for taking the initiative to help a fellow Nigerian reconnect with his family after years apart.
