NDA warns public of explosive blasts during cadets exercise

The Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) has announced that it would conduct an inter-company obstacle crossing competition for Short Service Cadets on Saturday at its Afaka facility.

The Academy disclosed this in a statement issued on Friday by its Public Relations Officer, Maj. Reuben Kovangiya.

Kovangiya explained that the exercise, which was part of the Academy’s routine training activities, would take place between 6 a.m. and 11 p.m.

He noted that the day and night exercise was designed to test the cadets’ ability to negotiate obstacles in combat situations.

According to him, the exercise will involve the use of explosive blasts, and residents are advised not to panic.

He added that the exercise would be conducted within the NDA Afaka area, urging residents of Mando, Tsamiya, Kauya, and Afaka to be aware of the activity.

Kovangiya assured the public that all necessary safety measures have been put in place to ensure a hitch-free exercise.

He also solicited the cooperation of members of the public and the media in disseminating the information.
