Musawa pays condolence visit to late actor Taiwo Hassan’s family

The Minister of Art, Culture, Tourism and the Creative Economy, Hannatu Musawa, has paid a condolence visit to the family of late Nollywood actor, Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo.

Musawa disclosed this in a post on X, where she said she conveyed the condolences of President Bola Tinubu and the Federal Government to the bereaved family.

According to the minister, the visit was also an opportunity to honour the legacy of the veteran actor and acknowledge his contributions to Nigeria’s film and creative industry.

“I paid a condolence visit to the bereaved family of the late Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo, a renowned and respected figure in Nigeria’s film industry,” Musawa said.

She said she conveyed “the deep condolences and heartfelt greetings” of Tinubu to the family on behalf of the Federal Government and Nigerians.

Musawa described Hassan’s death as a significant loss to his family, colleagues, fans and the wider Nigerian creative community.

“The passing of Ogogo is a great loss to his family, colleagues, fans and the wider Nigerian creative community,” she said.

The minister also acknowledged the late actor’s contribution to the growth of Nollywood and the Nigerian arts, saying his work would remain part of the country’s creative heritage.

“His remarkable contribution to Nollywood and his dedication to the Nigerian arts will remain an important part of our creative heritage,” she added.

Musawa, on behalf of her ministry, extended condolences to Hassan’s family, friends and colleagues, while praying for strength and comfort for them during the period of mourning.

She said the government would continue to honour the legacy of those who had contributed significantly to Nigeria’s creative sector.

“We mourn with the family, we honour his legacy, and we pray for comfort in this difficult time,” the minister said.
