Investors who relocated from Abia should return — Otti
ABIA — Abia State Governor, Alex Otti, has called on investors who previously relocated from the state to return and take advantage of what he described as the growing investment opportunities in the state.
Otti made the call on Monday while announcing the commissioning of the 55-room ORIS Signature Hotel on Okigwe Road, Aba.
The governor, in a post on his X platform, commended the Chief Executive Officer of the hotel, Owelle Greg Okafor, for completing the project within two years and a few months.
He described the hotel as a significant addition to Aba’s hospitality and investment landscape, saying its completion demonstrated what could be achieved when vision, enterprise and a conducive business environment came together.
According to him, Aba faced significant challenges when his administration assumed office, including poor road infrastructure and struggling industries.
He said the situation was gradually changing, with businesses returning, property values rising and new investments taking shape.
Otti therefore invited investors who had previously relocated from Abia, as well as prospective investors, to return and take advantage of the opportunities being created by his administration.
“What we have achieved so far is only the beginning,” the governor said, adding that the completion of more projects would further strengthen Aba’s position as an economic hub.
He specifically mentioned the soon-to-be-completed Radisson Blu Enyimba Hotel as one of the projects expected to contribute to the city’s continued growth.
Otti also acknowledged guests, friends and well-wishers who attended the commissioning and supported what he described as the growth and transformation of Aba and Abia State.
He congratulated Okafor and the entire ORIS Signature Hotel team on the completion of the project.
“Together, we will continue to build an Abia where businesses and investments can thrive and opportunities abound,” the governor said.
