Golearn, a financial education and empowerment organisation, has intensified its drive to equip young people with the knowledge, skills and opportunities to make better financial decisions, drawing between 2,000 and 2,500 participants to the fourth edition of its Lagos Finance Conference.

The gathering brought together young people, entrepreneurs, thought leaders and industry experts for practical conversations on money management, personal growth, entrepreneurship and wealth creation.

The latest edition further underscored Golearn’s expanding footprint in financial education, with the organisation disclosing that it has already upskilled more than 4,000 people while building a community of about 20,000 members through its Campus Finance Clubs across 51 higher institutions in Nigeria, Ghana and the United States.

The event also attracted high-profile speakers, including keynote speaker Dr. Akin Akinpelu, Golearn founder Olubori Paul, Rosemond Phil Othiwa and Solomon Ayodele, who shared practical perspectives on financial literacy, business, personal development and building sustainable futures.

The presence of the First Lady of Lagos State, Dr. Claudiana Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu, added further significance to the gathering, highlighting the growing importance of financial education as a tool for preparing young people for economic independence and responsible decision-making.

Beyond motivational speeches, the conference featured targeted sessions designed to move participants from inspiration to action.

The Build Panel, featuring Dr. Oluwakemi Onayemi, Oladele Adebayo Johnson and Oluwatosin Olusanmi, examined the foundations for building sustainable careers, businesses and financial capacity.

The Grow Panel, with Princess Aderinola Ekanola, Fajembola Ademola and Chigozie Chinedu, shifted attention to the next stage—how individuals can grow personally, professionally and financially after establishing a solid foundation.

Participants were also presented with practical pathways to continue their development, including scholarships, sponsorships and mentorship opportunities.

For Golearn, however, the LFC gathering represents only one component of a broader financial empowerment ecosystem.

Through initiatives including GoKids, GoMums, Golearn and the NextGen Youth Entrepreneurship Fellowship, the organisation is developing programmes targeted at different stages of people’s financial journeys—from children and mothers to young professionals and entrepreneurs.

Golearn’s stated mission is to help people “learn, make, manage and multiply money,” with an emphasis on ensuring that financial education extends beyond one-off conferences.

The organisation said it is building a continuous learning community where participants can access knowledge, mentorship, networks and opportunities long after major events have ended.

With more than 4,000 people already upskilled, a community approaching 20,000 members and Campus Finance Clubs operating across 51 higher institutions in three countries, Golearn is positioning financial literacy not merely as an academic subject, but as a practical tool for economic empowerment.

The fourth LFC gathering therefore marks another step in an expanding campaign to make financial knowledge more accessible to young people—and to turn that knowledge into better decisions, stronger careers, sustainable businesses and greater economic opportunity.

For Golearn, the ambition is clear: one person, one institution and one community at a time.
