Full list: Countries Nigerians can visit with no visa appointment
Nigerian passport holders can travel to dozens of countries without going through the traditional visa application process or attending a visa appointment before departure.
The latest 2026 Henley Passport Index shows that Nigerian citizens have access to 44 destinations through a combination of visa-free entry, visa on arrival and electronic visa arrangements. Nigeria ranked 90th globally in the July 2026 index, while its visa-free access score remained at 44 destinations.
For travellers, this means they can avoid the traditional process of booking an embassy appointment, submitting documents in person and waiting for a visa decision before travelling to these destinations.
However, the requirements differ from country to country. Some destinations allow Nigerians to enter without a visa, while others issue visas on arrival or require an online application or travel authorisation.

These destinations make up a large part of the travel access available to Nigerian passport holders, particularly within West Africa, where ECOWAS free-movement arrangements provide visa-free access to several countries.

The list is based on the destinations included in the latest 2026 passport-access data, although individual entry conditions can change.
What “no visa appointment” means
Not all 44 destinations offer completely visa-free entry.
Visa-free means travellers can enter without obtaining a visa before departure, subject to the country’s normal border requirements.
Visa on arrival means the traveller does not need to obtain a visa at an embassy before travelling. Instead, the visa is issued at the destination’s airport or other approved entry point.
Some countries may also require an online application or electronic travel authorisation. This can be completed before departure without the traditional in-person embassy appointment.
For example, Kenya is included among the destinations accessible to Nigerians, but travellers still need to complete the country’s electronic travel requirements before travelling. Seychelles also requires travellers to obtain a travel authorisation.
