EndSARS unrest: LSDPC rehabilitates damaged LASTMA station, donates two operational vehicles

The Lagos State Development and Property Corporation (LSDPC) has rehabilitated the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) Zone 25 office, serving the Bariga and Oworonshoki corridors, which was destroyed during the 2020 #EndSARS unrest.
As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, LSDPC also donated two brand-new operational vehicles to the traffic management agency to enhance its operations.
The reconstructed office complex, which had remained abandoned since it was damaged during the protests, was officially handed over to LASTMA in a move aimed at strengthening frontline public service delivery.
The facility had stood as a reminder of the destruction caused during the 2020 #EndSARS protests, forcing traffic officers in the area to operate under difficult conditions for several years.
Recognising the importance of adequate infrastructure to effective traffic management, LSDPC undertook the reconstruction of the station.
Speaking at the handover ceremony, LSDPC Managing Director, Ayodeji Joseph, represented by the Executive Director, Business Development and Joint Ventures, Mr. Derin Phillips, said the project underscored the importance of collaboration among government agencies.
“This initiative reflects our deep commitment to giving back through meaningful CSR projects.
“Partnerships like this are essential to improving public service delivery and ensuring that government institutions are adequately equipped to serve Lagosians efficiently.
“This handover marks another step in our broader mission to strengthen public infrastructure, foster safer communities and support seamless public service delivery across Lagos State,” he said.
Receiving the reconstructed facility and the keys to the operational vehicles, LASTMA General Manager expressed appreciation to the management of LSDPC for the intervention.
He said the modern office complex would improve the morale and productivity of officers in Zone 25, while the additional patrol vehicles would enhance emergency response and traffic management along the busy Bariga-Oworonshoki corridor.
