Police Arrest Doctor for Forging Medical Report to Stall Just Adetoun’s Trial

ABEOKUTA — The cyberbullying case against popular activist Adetoun Onajobi (Just Adetoun) has taken a criminal twist, with the Ogun State Police Command arresting a medical doctor for allegedly forging a sick report to help the activist evade interrogation.

The Command confirmed on Monday that while a six-count charge has been filed against Onajobi for cyberbullying Governor Dapo Abiodun, she remains at large, having used the fake document to deceive investigators.

The “Sick Bed” Deception

Police Public Relations Officer, Oluseyi Babaseyi, revealed that Onajobi was scheduled to appear for questioning on January 2, 2026, regarding her social media attacks on the Governor. Instead of appearing, her lawyer submitted a medical report claiming she was critically ill and hospitalized.

“Detectives immediately launched a discreet verification of the claim,” Babaseyi stated. “We discovered that the medical report was a complete fabrication.”

The police subsequently tracked down and arrested the medical director who issued the document. Under interrogation, the doctor reportedly crumbled, admitting that Onajobi was never his patient and that he had forged the report “based on a phone conversation” to help her buy time.

Doctor Arraigned, Activist “Evasive”

The police confirmed that the doctor has already been arraigned in court for conspiracy and obstruction of justice. Meanwhile, Onajobi has been declared “evasive” after repeatedly failing to honor police invitations.

“She is now facing a six-count charge at the Federal High Court for violating the Cybercrimes Act, but she continues to evade service,” the police statement noted.

The Origin: A Viral Attack

The charges stem from a series of aggressive viral videos released by Just Adetoun in December 2025. Following a tragic auto crash that killed two associates of heavyweight boxer Anthony Joshua, the activist took to social media to “rain expletives” on Governor Abiodun.

She accused the government of negligence regarding ambulance services and made other “damaging allegations” bordering on the Governor’s moral conduct—claims the police say are “malicious, false, and unsubstantiated.”

Police Warning

The Ogun State Command has warned that it will not tolerate the use of “activism” as a cover for criminal defamation or forgery.

“The law is clear. You cannot fabricate evidence to stall a criminal investigation. We will ensure that both the fugitive suspect and her accomplices face the full weight of the law,” the statement concluded.
