‘We Want US-Supervised Test’: Davido’s Alleged Baby Mama Rejects ‘5 DNA Results’ Claim
LAGOS — The paternity scandal rocking the Adeleke family has taken a diplomatic turn, as Ayo Labinjoh, the woman claiming that Afrobeats superstar Davido fathered her 12-year-old daughter, has rejected the singer’s claim of five negative DNA tests and is now demanding an independent inquiry supervised by the United States Embassy.
The controversy reignited this week after the 12-year-old girl, Anuoluwapo Mitchelle, posted a heartbreaking open letter on Instagram, begging the “Unavailable” crooner to accept her to stop the “mental anguish” and bullying she faces at school.
“He Is Lying”
Responding to Davido’s explosive outburst on X (formerly Twitter)—where he claimed to have conducted five separate DNA tests that all returned negative—Ms. Labinjoh described the singer’s narrative as a fabrication designed to bury the truth.
“There were no five tests. We only did one test in 2014, and it was manipulated,” Labinjoh alleged in a new statement released on Wednesday. “David is a US citizen. I will request the US State Department to contact the Embassy in Lagos or Abuja to help us supervise and witness a clean, independent DNA test. My daughter did not beg to be here, and bullying her is wrong.”
She insisted that previous samples were either discarded or the results falsified to protect the singer’s image, a claim the Adeleke family vehemently denies.
The Grandfather Intervenes
In a rare move to protect his son’s reputation, Davido’s father, the billionaire business magnate Dr. Deji Adeleke, addressed the press on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, to debunk the claims once and for all.
Dr. Adeleke revealed that the family has indeed conducted multiple tests—including one involving the child’s grandmother—and the results were scientifically conclusive.
“The result stated that the probability of paternity was 0.00 percent,” Dr. Adeleke told reporters. “The lab explained clearly that David was not the father of the child. We even offered to support the child if she was ours, but science does not lie. It is dangerous for anyone to continue pushing this false narrative.”
“Go Find Your Papa”
The drama reached a boiling point earlier in the week when Davido lost his cool on social media following Anuoluwapo’s viral video.
“After 5 DNA tests… she dey crase,” the singer tweeted in Pidgin. “Her and her mom better leave me the f**k alone and go find her papa. I have my own children. Stop this nonsense.”
The Grammy-nominated artist also threatened legal action, stating that the persistent harassment by the mother—whom he described as an “obsessed fan”—warranted jail time.
As the public debate rages, social media remains divided, with some fans urging Davido to ignore the “distraction” while others call for one final, public test to put the 12-year-old’s questions to rest.
