Court orders forfeiture of N4.6bn jewellery, exotic cars linked to Achimugu

An Abuja High Court sitting in Apo has ordered the final forfeiture of assets valued at billions of naira linked to businesswoman, Ms Aisha Achimugu, to the Federal Government.

The forfeited assets include jewellery worth N4.645 billion, 11 exotic vehicles valued at N4.293 billion, $50,000 cash, and N30 million cash.

Justice Jude Onwugbuzie granted the order on Thursday, July 16, 2026, while delivering judgment on an application filed by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) seeking the final forfeiture of the properties.

The court’s decision followed the anti-graft agency’s application for the assets to be permanently forfeited to the government.

The forfeited items comprise high-value personal effects and cash holdings linked to Achimugu, a businesswoman whose assets had earlier been the subject of legal proceedings.

Details of the judgment were contained in the court’s ruling delivered by Justice Onwugbuzie.
