Buni swears in SSG, advisers, permanent secretaries, board chairmen

DAMATURU — Yobe State Governor, Hon. Mai Mala Buni, has sworn in the newly appointed Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Special Advisers, Permanent Secretaries, Board Chairmen and Permanent Members of the Rural Electrification Board.
The governor said the appointments were made in line with the constitutional responsibility of government to provide effective policy direction and improve service delivery.
The swearing-in ceremony, held at the Banquet Hall of the Government House, Damaturu, was attended by top government officials, traditional rulers, politicians, captains of industry, family members of the appointees and other dignitaries.
Addressing the appointees after administering the oath of office, Governor Buni said his administration places priority on competence, integrity and productivity as key principles for effective governance.
He explained that the government was deliberately combining the experience of seasoned public servants with the energy and creativity of young professionals to meet the demands of modern governance.
The governor urged the newly inaugurated officials to deploy their knowledge, experience and expertise towards improving public service delivery and justifying the confidence placed in them.
Buni highlighted some achievements of his administration, including the recruitment of 9,230 teachers and more than 14,000 health workers to strengthen the education and healthcare sectors.
He added that the government had continued to invest in human capital development through training and retraining programmes for civil servants to enhance manpower capacity across the state.
The governor assured residents that his administration would sustain efforts towards completing ongoing legacy projects, strengthening institutional reforms, expanding economic opportunities, improving agriculture and healthcare delivery, and advancing other development programmes across Yobe State.
Those sworn in include Dr. Mohammed Goje as Secretary to the State Government; and four Permanent Secretaries — Abdullahi Barde Kukuri, Liman Ibrahim Ali, Hadiza Sabo and Zainab Abdu Sale.
Also inaugurated were five Special Advisers: Aji Sale Suleiman, Abdu Mamman Zoto, Mamman Musa, Mu’azu Ya’u Jumbam and Dr. Babagana Mohammed Adam.
Others are Engr. Umar Mustapha Goniri as Chairman of the Yobe State Rural Electrification Commission; Dr. Ibrahim Mohammed Yabani as Chairman of the Yobe State Independent Electoral Commission (YSIEC); and Alhaji Modu Sanda Gulani as Chairman of the Teaching Service Board, alongside Permanent Members of the Rural Electrification Board.
Governor Buni charged the appointees to carry out their duties with dedication, transparency and accountability in line with his administration’s commitment to good governance and sustainable development.
