Barcelona in shock move to sign England captain Harry Kane
Barcelona are weighing up a move for Bayern Munich and England striker Harry Kane, though the forward’s attention is firmly fixed on the ongoing World Cup.
The Spanish giants are working through the financial logistics of a potential deal for Kane, who has just wrapped up one of the most remarkable individual seasons in recent European football history.
The 31-year-old netted 61 club goals and contributed seven assists in 51 appearances for Bayern in 2025/26: a tally that puts him in the company of Cristiano Ronaldo, the last player to reach that mark, for Real Madrid over a decade ago.
On top of his club exploits, Kane claimed his second European Golden Shoe as the top scorer across Europe’s top five leagues, a feat achieved by only a handful of players.
Only Lionel Messi (six) and Ronaldo (four) have won the award more times.
The season also delivered long-awaited silverware, with Kane collecting three trophies — the German Super Cup, the Bundesliga title, and the DFB Pokal.
His 70th goal across club and country this campaign came at the World Cup, where he has now surpassed every England player in the tournament’s scoring history.
Despite entering the final year of his contract at Bayern, sources indicate both the club and Kane are relaxed about the situation.
His family have settled comfortably in Munich, and for now, England’s challenge at the World Cup is his only priority.
