2027: Wike debunks viral post backing Adamawa LP candidate, Abbo

By Omeiza Ajayi

Minister of the Federal Capital Territory FCT, Nyesom Wike, has debunked a social media post claiming he is backing Senator Ishaku Abbo, the Labour Party LP candidate in next year’s Adamawa State governorship election.

Wike, who spoke through his Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications and Social Media, Lere Olayinka, described the report as fake.

Olayinka said the minister has no relationship with the LP or any of its candidates in Adamawa State.

The post in question quoted Wike as urging the people of Adamawa State to make informed and thoughtful decisions at the ballot, adding that, in his opinion, Abbo is best fit to lead the state.

The minister, however, said he did not at any time endorse Abbo or any other LP candidate. He urged the people of Adamawa State to disregard the post, stressing that whoever he is supporting, he will say so with his own mouth.
