2027: Opposition has no alternative to Tinubu’s policies — Olabimtan
— Says president has laid foundation for better tomorrow

AKURE — The Director-General of the Ondo State Presidential Campaign Council (PCC), Victor Olabimtan, has challenged opposition presidential candidates to present credible and practicable alternatives to the policies and programmes of President Bola Tinubu’s administration ahead of the 2027 general election.
Olabimtan, who is also the Ondo State Coordinator of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors (RHA), said opposition candidates had yet to demonstrate how they intended to govern differently or improve on the current administration’s policies.
He spoke days after the inauguration of the Ondo State PCC, insisting that Nigerians should assess the Tinubu administration based on its achievements, prevailing challenges and prospects for the future.
“None of those aspiring to challenge the President has presented convincing and workable templates demonstrating what they intend to do differently or better if given the opportunity.
“Instead, they continue to recycle familiar rhetoric without offering practical solutions,” he said.
Olabimtan maintained that the Tinubu administration had taken significant steps towards addressing the country’s challenges and laying the foundation for sustainable development.
He identified economic management, infrastructure development, education and youth empowerment as areas in which the administration had recorded what he described as significant milestones.
According to him, the country’s current economic realities should be considered alongside the situation before the administration’s reforms and the prospects for future improvement.
“The ongoing electioneering campaign should not be judged solely by where we are today. Rather, it should be assessed against three critical realities: where we were before now, where we are at present, and where we are heading.
“We all know that we are not yet where we ought to be, but we are equally conscious of the fact that we have moved considerably beyond where we used to be. All indices point to the prospect of a better tomorrow,” he said.
The PCC director-general said Tinubu had laid a foundation for a better future, particularly for young Nigerians, adding that the President had promised a second term focused on shared prosperity.
“What is required of us now is to support and vote for him for a second term so that he can consolidate the gains already recorded and complete the good work he has started,” Olabimtan said.
On the preparedness of the campaign council, which was inaugurated on Saturday, October 17, 2026, he said it was committed to mobilising support for Tinubu’s re-election and the election of all All Progressives Congress (APC) candidates in the state.
He said the council was working to secure support for APC candidates contesting seats in the National Assembly and the Ondo State House of Assembly.
“Our mission goes beyond delivering Ondo State massively for President Tinubu. We are equally determined to ensure that all APC candidates, from the State House of Assembly to the National Assembly, emerge victorious with unprecedented margins.
“We are working towards this objective, and with the structures and strategies already in place, we are confident of a strong performance in 2027,” he said.
Olabimtan commended Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, who also chairs the state PCC, for providing the structures and support required to strengthen the council’s operations.
He said the council was confident that its mobilisation efforts would help it secure support from voters who, according to him, appreciated Tinubu’s achievements and commitment to national development.
The PCC director-general also urged APC leaders, stakeholders and independent campaign groups across Ondo State to work together, warning that internal disagreements could undermine the party’s electoral objectives.
“This is a clarion call on APC leaders and independent campaign groups in Ondo State to join hands with Mr Governor and the Ondo State PCC in the overall interest of our party.
“We stand to gain more when we work together. Disagreements are inevitable in politics, but past differences should not be allowed to undermine our collective progress. This is the time to work as a united team rather than at cross-purposes,” he said.
Under the campaign mantra, “One Party, One Message, One Campaign Mobilisation,” Olabimtan urged party members to set aside their differences, strengthen their grassroots structures and coordinate their mobilisation efforts.
Recalling the 2023 presidential election, he said Ondo State had recorded significant support for Tinubu and expressed confidence that the APC would seek to sustain and improve on that performance in 2027.
He urged residents to continue supporting Tinubu and the APC, arguing that continuity would enable the administration to consolidate its reforms and development programmes in education, infrastructure, economic growth and youth empowerment.
Olabimtan reaffirmed the PCC’s commitment to working with party leaders, stakeholders and grassroots mobilisers across the state to pursue the APC’s objectives in the 2027 general election.
