2027: Kaduna is Settled for Tinubu, Uba Sani Declares
KADUNA — Governor Uba Sani has declared that Kaduna State will overwhelmingly re-elect President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027, citing the “unprecedented scale” of federal government projects currently transforming the state’s economy.
Speaking at a stakeholders’ engagement on the ongoing electronic registration of All Progressives Congress (APC) members in Kaduna on Sunday, the Governor asserted that the dividends of democracy under the Tinubu administration have made the party the undisputed choice for the people of Kaduna.
“Unprecedented” Federal Support
Governor Sani highlighted two major federal interventions that he believes set the Tinubu administration apart: a massive investment in transport infrastructure and a game-changing agricultural project.
“Only three weeks ago, I was in China at the instance of President Tinubu,” Sani revealed. “He has decided that Kaduna will be the pilot state for a major $200 million Mega Poultry Project.”
The Governor explained that this single agricultural initiative will generate at least 350,000 direct and indirect jobs, positioning Kaduna as a central hub for food security in Northern Nigeria.
Reviving the Light Rail
In addition to agriculture, Governor Sani disclosed that the President has approved ₦1 billion in direct support for the Kaduna Light Rail project.
“This intervention is unprecedented in Northern Nigeria,” Sani stated. “Apart from Lagos State, no other subnational government has received such robust federal backing for a light rail system.”
He argued that these projects are not just promises but visible realities that are already reshaping the state’s economic landscape, making the opposition’s campaign for 2027 an uphill battle.
Mobilizing the Grassroots
The Governor used the event to rally party faithfuls, announcing an ambitious target for the ongoing APC membership drive.
“We are targeting 2.5 million registered members in this exercise,” Sani announced. He noted that the influx of defectors from opposition parties serves as proof that the “inclusive development model” of his administration and the federal government is working.
Senate President Godswill Akpabio, who also spoke on the sidelines of related political engagements, reinforced the Governor’s sentiment, stating that stakeholders are laser-focused on assisting the President to succeed because “if he succeeds, Nigeria succeeds.”
